7 Reasons you should set Goals for your Business in 2021 by Emiola Adetunji-Mustapha


1. Hit the Ground Running in the New Year. 
Goals will help You, Your Team and the Business hit the ground running in the right Direction in the new year.  

Usually every business owner seems to hit the ground running in the new year. New inspiration, New Energy and Great motivation is usually very common at the beginning of a new year….but how many business owners actually channel the new burst of energy towards a goal. Elbert Hubbard said, "many people fail in life not for lack of ability ,or brians or even courage but simply  because they have never organised  their energies  around a goal" 

2. Stop Repeating the previous year.

Are you Repeating the previous year? 

At times we think we are growing but we are actually just surviving.  is your business just surviving.? Take time to reflect on the Sales Turnover for the previous year, Personnel productivity, the problems you experienced in the previous year, profit of the previous year and years. Have you been making remarkable progress?

3. Strategic time out with your Business. 

Just like a romantic getaway with a lover, your business needs you to spend time thinking and fantasizing about what is possible. How to make it possible, the reward that comes with success  and many more. Goal setting is a time to gaze into the eyes of your business and savour what the future holds. 

Goal setting time is an opportunity  to think about your business and come up with winning strategies. The process of setting goals for your business will make you think about the business and a Great Strategy is a product of good thinking. 

When was the last time you took time to really think about your business? Goals will help you do that.

4. Adapt swiftly to a rapidly Changing Business Environment. 

Goals have the capacity to motivate you and your team to find new ways of achieving whatever you desire for the business. When there are great goals that the organisation is working towards, adapting to a changing environment becomes easier and fun. 

5. To Foster Focus 
Focus is a prerequisite for business growth. Without Goals there is nothing to focus on. If you Focus on Nothing...Nothing grows.( EAM)

6. To Monitor Progress. 

Business goals can also be  a form of Milestone. Whatever you measure can be monitored, controlled and improved

7. To harness and maximise the Potential of the business, its owners and their team. 

Your potential as well as your teams Potential is Limitless and by extension the Business potential is also limitless. You have no idea what you are capable of achieving.  Goals will set your infinite potential loose and you will be amazed at what is possible. 

6. Do you have business goals?.

Take time to set goals for tomorrow now.
Then,  Set goals for next week
Set goals for next month
Set goals for the First quarter of 2021
Set goals for year 2021
And set goals for the next 3 years

As we approach the new year 2021. Plan to channel your energy towards your business Goals and you will experience a different/positive result.
